Do you believe in love at first sight? Well, when actors Amy-Jane and Andy had a chance meeting on the set of Blood Brothers, it’s safe to say they became firm believers.
With a love story rivalling any rom-com, their wedding day was set to unfold right in the heart of the enchanting city of Chester, and I welcomed the offer to become their wedding photographer, capturing a love story fit for the silver screen.
Their wedding day at the stunning Old Palace in Chester, unfolded amidst the sweltering late summer heat, yet nothing could dampen the palpable excitement in the air. With a lively entourage of theatre friends and close family in tow, Andy and Amy-Jane exchanged vows in the regal River Room; think Hollywood romance meets quintessential English charm.
It’s safe to say that Amy-Jane was the epitome of bridal perfection, with a traditional yet elegant bridal gown. Showing off her makeup talents, Amy-Jane looked flawless, especially with her hair styled by the talented Carol Ellis-Thompson.
In the River Room at the Old Palace, Chester, Andy and Amy-Jane exchanged their vows with a blend of humor and heartfelt promises. Against the picturesque backdrop of the River Dee. Their playful banter and loving glances filled the room with joy, making their wedding a delightful blend of fun and romance. As they sealed their vows, we headed outside to enjoy the sunshine and views of the Chester riverfront.
If you’ve ever had the opportunity to stroll along Chester’s riverfront, you’ll agree that it’s a picturesque waterside haven. So, after the ceremony, we took advantage of this stunning backdrop and headed to the groves for some enchanting photos along the River Dee and over the landmark Jubilee bridge, perfectly capturing the golden hour glow and the warmth of Andy and Amy-Jane’s love. We then moved on to Chester’s iconic bandstand for some heartwarming family shots with Amy-Jane’s & Andy’s daughter, adding an extra layer of fun and love to their wedding album.
At the wedding reception, the speeches added a mix of laughter and sentiment to the celebration. Speakers shared memories and anecdotes, reflecting on Amy-Jane and Andy’s journey and the bonds they’ve formed. There were lighthearted moments that had everyone laughing, followed by touching tributes that brought smiles and a few happy tears. The speeches captured the essence of their love and the supportive circle of friends and family around them. As the river flowed gently outside, the room was filled with the heartfelt echoes of well-wishes and applause, marking the start of a beautiful chapter for Amy-Jane and Andy.
As the evening unfolded, the enchantment continued with an unforgettable sunset cruise aboard the Lady Diana River cruise along the River Dee. Guests were serenaded by the talented Rachel Lucy Music along with surprise performances by theatre pals, a nod to their theatrical roots. Andy and friends also treated guests to their own performances. Andy’s version of Wonderwall was defenitly memorable!
As the sun dipped below the horizon and dancing shoes hit the dancefloor, it was evident that Andy and Amy-Jane’s wedding day had been an incredible celebration, etched forever in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to join.
